The roster

Contributor roster

The roster is established and closed by default. We add to it selectively, and only when a candidate raises the standard of what is already published here.

Contributing professionals at work around an editorial table
Practitioners first, writers second — which is exactly the order we want.

Practitioners who happen to write unusually well

Our contributors are surgeons, trial attorneys, tax partners, structural engineers, brokers and underwriters. They are established in their fields. They write here because they are tired of watching their professions explained badly by people who have never practised them.

Each of them agreed to something most online writers never have to: publishing under a full record. Name, credentials, firm, registration, office, telephone. That is a real commitment, and it is why the writing reads differently.

  • Current license, bar admission or registration in good standing
  • Active practice — not a consultancy built on writing about the practice
  • Writing that informs a reader rather than markets to one
  • Willingness to disclose any interest touching the subject

What a contributor commits to

The terms are short, and they are not negotiable

Write inside your scope. Submit your own work. Declare anything you stand to gain. Publish under your full record, and stand behind what you wrote if a reader contacts you about it.

In exchange, we do not rewrite you, we do not bury your name under a house byline, and we do not surround your article with advertising for services you have never seen.
