Something broke in the way professional knowledge reaches the public. A decade ago, searching for an answer about a surgical risk, a lease clause or a tax election turned up writing by people who did that work. Today the same search returns pages assembled from other pages: no author who can be reached, no license that can be checked, no practice standing behind a single sentence.

The material is not always wrong. That is the difficult part. It is fluent, confident, structurally correct and completely unaccountable, and a reader has no way to tell it apart from the real thing. When the writing costs nothing to produce, nobody has any reason to be careful with it.

What we do differently

We publish practising professionals, and we make them identifiable. Every article carries a Contributor Record: name, credentials, role, firm, license or registration verified with the issuing body, jurisdiction, office, and a direct business line. A reader who wants to know who told them something can find out in one glance, and can pick up a telephone if they want to.

We also refuse to rewrite. Accepted work runs in the contributor’s own words. An editor checks it, queries it, and either publishes it or declines it — but does not turn it into house copy. The texture of someone who has actually done the work is the whole value, and it is the first thing an optimising editor destroys.

What “affiliate” means here

Contributors are affiliated professionals: independently practising, approved to publish with us, and responsible for their own work. They are not employees, and the publication does not speak for them. Where a contributor has a commercial interest in a subject, it is disclosed on the article.

What this site is not

It is not a directory, not a referral service, and not a source of advice for your particular situation. Articles here are professional opinion offered for general information. Reading one creates no professional relationship with the author — and no article, however well written, substitutes for retaining someone who can look at your facts.
